FG places ban on 'Fans mi', 'Bobo', 'Gbese' 'Tesojue'

A number of top songs have been banned from being played by national radio and TV broadcasting houses by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

In a list published by NBC, 18 songs and videos from local and international artistes are to be removed from air due to major reasons – “Vulgar lyrics and Obscene videos”.

Songs affected range from the current to past hit songs. Olamide’s music appears twice on the list. The buzzing ‘Bobo’ single, and his collaboration with CDQ and Masterkraft ‘Indomie’ are affected. Wizkid’s ‘In my bed’, Phyno’s ‘Yayo’, Reminisce’s ‘Tesojue’, Iyanya’s ‘Gift, and many others.

Davido’s controversial visual for ‘Fans mi’ also took a hit, but with a special reason. The NBC frowned on it because the “Video promotes ostentatious lifestyle, violence, drug trafficking and indecent exposure.”

On the international front, Nicki Minaj’s sexually explicit ‘Anaconda’ was axed, Ace Hood and Rick Ross had their ‘Bugatti’ visual removed, and he popular ‘Post to be’ by Omarion. No Nigerian artiste have reacted to the ban.
