Telco will stop supporting BlackBerry service from January 27, 2017

The company alerted its subscribers of this development via a text message which read: "Dear customer, MTN Blackberry service will be decommissioned on 27/01/2017. Please upgrade to a smartphone and enjoy 100% bonus on any data bundle purchased."
Last month (December 2016), Glo also stopped supporting BlackBerry OS 7 services and made the announcement via a text to its customers as well. Glo still supports BB10 devices.
Another telco, Etisalat Nigeria, stopped supporting BlackBerry devices in November 2016, according to an Innovation Village report.

BlackBerry recently announced that it will stop manufacturing its popular BlackBerry devices after the ill-fated DTEK60 device received a poor reception amongst consumers.
