Mellow is from the hard knocks black-populated sections of Baltimore. Gronk is from Williamsville, New York, a pristine little town outside of Buffalo. They are as unlikely teammates as you can imagine.

Carmelo Anthony (“Mellow”) is a professional basketballer for the New York Knicks and Rob Gronkowski (“Gronk”) is a professional footballer for the New England Patriots. One shoots on a hardwood court while the other catches and blocks on grass.

However, a common fate looms above both of them.

They have dedicated their lives to learning one craft, a craft that is an ACL tear away from a torn-up contract or a hamstring injury away from unemployment.

Therefore, they share the common fate of fleeting fame. All of those millions could disappear like that. So like most pro athletes, by age 40 they face two simple questions: “What am I going to do with the rest of my life” and “How can I make a living when I am not trained for anything else?”

That is why Team Mellow-Gronk decided to partner with Vice Media and become involved in hosting their own video series.

Forbes reports that Anthony is a founding partner of The Clubhouse, a new channel introduced by Vice Sports, LLC. They will host a series on life outside the sport.

Hopefully, with this new venture, those millions won’t run out so soon.
