DJ Neptune turns a year older today, Friday, September 2015. He is known for playing different genres of international, Nigerian and African music including hip-hop, dancehall, R&B and house.
Neptune is currently working on a new album and an online radio show. In celebration of his birthday, Pulse Nigeria presents a list of things you probably don’t know about him.
1. His real name is Imohiosen Patrick.
2. One of his ambitions during his childhood years was to be a musician or an entertainer. After watching a live DJ set at a party in 1999, he decided to become a DJ.
3. He received mentorship from UK based disc jokey, DJ Douglas and became a professional DJ in 2001.
4. DJ Neptune became a household name when he was a resident DJ at Raypower FM 100.5 FM. He worked with the radio station form 2004 to 2010.
5. He has over 50 mixtapes including: “Let's Party Naija”, “I am Hip Hop Naija”, "Reggae Dancehall Riddim Mixtape", “East African Afrobeat Mix” and “Not Your Usual Mix Vol. 2”.
6. He studied Mass Communication.
7. Asides from his home country, Nigeria, the international DJ has performed in several countries including: the United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, Malaysia, South Africa, Liberia, Ghana and most recently in Mauritius.
