Nigeria failed to dominate Africa at the 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards as only three awards were clinched by the West African country.

The awards show which took place on November 29, 2014 saw Tanzania's Diamond turn out the biggest winner of the night, bagging three awards; 'Most Gifted Afro Pop', 'Most Gifted Newcomer' and 'Most Gifted East'.

The likes of Tiwa Savage, KCEE and Olamide were the only winners of the night; Mavin lady Tiwa won the 'Most Gifted Female' award for her 'Eminado' single featuring Don Jazzy, KCEE won the 'Most Gifted Duo' for his hit single 'Pullover' featuring Wizkid.

Nigerian rapper Olamide beat Davido, Dr SID, Burna Boy and R2bees to clinch the 'Most Gifted West' award. He also performed alongside YBNL rapper Lil Kesh who rendered his 'Shoki' remix alongside Davido.

The biggest loser of the night was Pop star Davido who lost out five times. Davido has however had a successful run in 2014 winning four 'Best African Act' awards in several music award shows.

There were performances from the likes of AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Donald and others.

The awards show was held at Nasrec Expo Centre in Soweto, Johannesburg and was hosted by Siyabonga Ngwekazi and Eku Edewor.
