Legendary rock singer loses voice during Berlin concert

The Irish rock group was forced to cut short a concert in Berlin before thousands of fans in after Bono lost his voice.

Bono, according to reports, had announced to the fans that he could no longer continue singing due to loss of voice after performing only a few songs.

The 58-year-old rock singer had stopped singing to drink from a thermos flask several times during his performance before admitting he had problem with his voice.

In a statement on the band's website, the Irish rock group was forced to cut short the “Experience + Innocence” concert in Berlin before thousands of fans in.

“We’re so sorry for tonight’s cancellation.

“Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice.”

“We don’t know what has happened and we’re taking medical advice.”

“As always, we appreciate our audience’s understanding and all our fans’ support in Berlin and those who travelled from afar. We will update you very soon,” the statement said.

Bono hangs out with celebs in Lagos

Bono was in Nigeria in 2015 where he related with top Nigerian music stars.

On August 28, 2015, Pulse reported him hanging out with singer Waje at a One campaign event in Lagos.

Bono who is the co-founder of One Campaign later in the day met with Nigerian celebrities Cobhams Asuquo, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Waje, D’banj, DJ Lambo, Femi Kuti and others.
