According to the FRSC boss, the decision to was made by the Joint Tax Board, presided over by the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, Babatunde Fowler, at its 134th meeting.

“The board has approved an optional validity period for driving licence of three and five years at different costs to provide more efficient an effective service delivery to its customers,” he stated.

Insisting that the goal is customer satisfaction, Oyeyemi stressed the need for new applicant to go to approved driving schools, in order to get the necessary training for a licence.

The five-year license cost N10,000, while the three-year license, which is still valid, is worth N6,000.
