Late Doctor Ameyo Stella Adadevoh has been honoured with an award from the Rotary Club of Abuja-Metro, Rotary International District 9125 in recognition of her bravery.
Dr. Adadevoh died of Ebola on August 19, 2014 after ensuring the confinement of infected Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer who brought the disease into Nigeria.
The award was announced on Thursday, October 2 by the newly elected President of the group, Rotn Dr. Biodun Olusesi who said that the late doctor had made a huge sacrifice in defence of Nigeria, The Guardian reports.
Olusesi said:
"It is not unusual to award a posthumous award when it is well deserved in the case of Adadevoh. She is a physician to the core and she wasn't ready to bend, and that saved the large number of people from contracting Ebola.”
