The singer shared the news on social media, revealing the intriguing title of the project and giving fans a glimpse into what they can expect from his next body of work.

2Baba accompanied the announcement with a reflective message that appeared to hint at the experiences that have shaped him over the years.

“I've lived it. I've seen it. I'm still here. My new album, OLDEST YOUNG MAN, soon come,” he wrote.

The announcement quickly caught the attention of fans, especially because 2Baba backed the post with his 2012 hit song, Rainbow.

The choice of song has sparked speculation among some fans, who believe its lyrics could carry a deeper meaning in light of the singer's highly publicised relationships.

Fans particularly revisited the song's opening verse, which reflects on separation, emotional hardship and a desire to reconnect with a former lover.

The timing of Rainbow has also drawn attention. The song was released in 2012, around the period 2Baba and actress Annie Macaulay Idibia got married. They remained together for more than a decade before their separation became public in January 2025. 

The latest album announcement comes amid renewed public interest in 2Baba's personal life following reports of marital tensions between the singer and his wife, Natasha Osawaru.

In August 2026, reports of a confrontation between the couple at the opening of a nightclub in Abuja sparked widespread online discussion. Natasha later described their situation as a marital crisis while dismissing claims that they had separated.

Against this backdrop, the singer's decision to pair his latest album announcement with Rainbow has left fans searching for possible meanings behind the choice.
