5 young Nigerians make magazine's 2017 30 under 30 list

The list was dominated by young managers from South Africa, which had 9 people, and Nigeria, which had 5.

The five Nigerians on the list are Nasir Yammama, 27- Founder, Verdant Agri-Tech; Shakeela Tolasade Williams, 29- Founder, Sade Hair, Muktar Onifade, 26- Founder, VIZUVLGVDS, Edikan Udiong, 29- Oleander House and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, 26 – Founder, Flutterwave.

The publication is an annual recognition of enterprises in Africa which are managed by young entrepreneurs who are below the age of 30.

The average age of entrepreneurs on the list was estimated at 27, while one-third of the named business heads (33%) are women.

The list was dominated by young managers from South Africa, which had 9 people (53%), and Nigeria, which had 5 (16.7%).

The number of Nigerians on the list shows an improvement from 2016, when only two citizens- Obinwanne Okeke of Invictus Group and Uneku Atawodi of  Bamboo Green Concepts made the list.

The class of companies managed by these young Nigerian Chief Executives spread across fashion, Fintech, Agri-Tech, product branding and health management.
