Metuh appointed Oziokor after he debriefed his former counsel, Mr <strong>Onyechi Ikpeazu</strong> (SAN) and Mr <strong>Emeka Etiaba</strong>, (SAN) who had been in charge of the case since 2015, when the trial started.
The judge further made an order enforcing Fani-Kayode and Odumakin’s fundamental rights and ordered the EFCC, the DSS and the Nigeria Police to stop issuing threats of unlawful arrest.
NAN reports that Metuh is standing trial on a seven-count charge brought against him by the EFCC for allegedly receiving N400 million from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col <strong>Sambo Dasuki</strong> (rtd).
When the matter was called, the ICPC Counsel, Mr <strong>Henry Emore</strong> made an oral application to withdraw the earlier charge filed on Jan. 21.
The Prosecutor, Mr Sylvanus Tahir, noted that there must be an end to the defence, adding that Metuh had been giving evidence in his defence since July 6, 2018.Â
Justice Inyang Ekwo fixed the date on Wednesday, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Simon Lough, who had called two witness, Mr Buhari Moshood and Mrs Salamatu Fumilayo, prayed the court for leave to file additional evidence.
