The EP is also the perfect timing for artistic consciousness based on the current global pandemic that has made the singer reflect on a lot of things.&nbsp;

The former Agro export consultant who quit his profession in 2018 to focus solely on music said is EP is timely with the current coronavirus pandemic.

“The pandemic EP is the kinda sound that the everyday hustler, bro or girl can relate to and vibe with, it also talks about socio economic issues so I advice everyone to listen and enjoy my school of thought," Rova said.

Rova also described Terry Apala as the perfect collaborator.

"I feel like the level of consciousness and the intensity of the messages that was passed in that EP can’t be over exaggerated," Rova also said.

"Making it longer might make deviate from the actually reason for the EP or even water down the consciousness. I think three songs were just perfect."

Drawing inspiration from the state of the economy and behavioral patterns, the singer said his genre of music is Rova music.

"I vibe to anything; Hiphop Soul, RnB, reggae, Afrobeats, dancehall... I like to create music in my own way. So I’ll call my genre Rova Music. Rova was coined from Rover, which a sports player that can play in any part of the field."

For instance, Mozilla  has observed that users are more impatient with the content of a page loading than with a graphic image or side bar loading, and have thus optimized the Firefox quantum browser in that respect.

The other day <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/news/tech/google-apple-differ-on-how-cheeseburger-emoji-should-look-id7532212.html" id="f02ad503-9a83-5aab-8196-9c7576d8ab2d">Google and Apple were debating over how a burger emoji should look like.</a>

Well the guys at Unicode, the technical organization in charge of selecting and overseeing emojis have decided they have nothing to do better with their time than discuss poop emojis and the type of new emotions they should create.

Their argument centers around “Frowning Pile of Poo,” one of the emojis under consideration for the June 2018 class.

The two chief critics — Michael Everson and Andrew West, both typographers — say that the emoji proposal process has become too commercial and frivolous, thereby cheapening the Unicode Consortium’s long body of work.

“Organic waste isn’t cute,” Everson wrote, aghast that the technical committee would even deign to consider additional excremoji. “It is bad enough that the [Emoji Subcommittee] came up with it, but it beggars belief that the [Unicode Technical Committee] actually approved it,” he wrote. Everson continued.

Asking a Pulse colleague Yinka if she likes the poop emoji, she says “Because it is nasty and if you wanted to tell someone they are shit, you would use that, you could also use it to express emotions of surprise, shock, disappointment” she added.

So we both concluded that the poop emoji could pass for use in everyday communication and come with as many emotion variations as possible.

The default one used on Whatsapp is a smiling one, and people do use it, so nothing should stop them using a frowning poop emoji or any other variety people come up with and propose to Unicode.

<h1>Nigerian drivers using the Uber ride-hailing apps have devised new ways to be fraudulent at the expense of riders.</h1>

An app named ‘Lockito’ has become popular amongst some of these drivers who now use it to calculate a dubious itinerary fare for the riders.

Their reason Uber Nigeria  drivers are giving for going this direction according to Quartz is due to management <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/news/tech/uber-takes-the-fight-to-taxify-with-its-own-40-price-cut-id6642325.html" id="e4a08ea3-44ea-5344-be77-5913f62b11a9">slashing base fare prices by 40% in response to Taxify.</a>

Lockito app actually was meant to be used by Android developers to test geo-fencing based apps or just test his apps on different locations.

Geo-fencing actually allows marketers target potential customers based on a defined geographical boundary using global positioning (GPS) or Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), such that when a potential customer enters that area with his mobile device, a text message, an e-mail or app notification is triggered to target that customer.

Lockito allows you to make your phone follow a fake itinerary, with total control over the speed and GPS signal accuracy, and also simulate a static location.

Pulse spoke to one Usman, an Uber driver, to find out if he uses the Lockito app. He claims he doesn’t but is aware of it and actually tried to inquire about it from his fellow drivers but they refused to explain to him what it was all about.

He however talked about some ways drivers can be dishonest when using Uber.

“What I know they do is some of these drivers start the trip before getting to the riders’ pick-up point in order to shoot up the total ride fare,” Usmanexplained.

He then goes on describing an app that the drivers use which helps raise the trip fares which he says he doesn’t know the name of but from his description it sounded similar to what the Lockito app does.

“They use that app together with the Uber app and at the end of the trip they will show the rider the other app instead of Uber's , but some smart riders check how much the fare is on their phone after the trip ends.

So when the driver shows them how much they are to pay, if they see a different figure they will bring out their own app to shame the drivers, and this is for those that pay cash, those that pay with card, the drivers don’t play this trick on them,” Usman explained.

He went further to say that Uber is aware of the fast one these drivers are playing through riders who report suspected hike in trip fares, and has been penalizing the offenders by not paying the drivers at the end of the month.“Uber is disappointing them a lot, uber doesn’t pay them at the end of the day, the drivers will now be lamenting they have not been paid, why would you be paid, are your hands clean? Mr. Usman remarked.”

It’s not so hard to see why some of these drivers are cutting corners. Moral principles asides, the Nigerian economy has been a sorry case for most.

And though Nigeria has been reported to have come out of recession in September, the economic situation is still tough for the average citizen.

A recent report from the World Poverty Clock predicts that by February 2018 Nigeria will overtake India and become the country with the most people living in extreme poverty.

Underemployment, Unemployment, commodities inflation, lack of infrastructural and social amenities are still the order of the day.

This is however not excusing the dubious action of these set of Uber drivers.

As for <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/news/tech/taxify-to-launch-in-abuja-residents-express-delight-id7564938.html" id="dbd76d05-e04e-5865-9a60-e210464a0a8c">Taxify who like Uber have now set up shop in Abuja</a>it has been learnt that the company is dealing with drivers that make such moves by making them upgrade the app. That way, Lockito is ‘locked out’ says an Uber driver with the pseudonym Williams, that spoke to online media Quartz.

Asides seizing the payment of the dishonest drivers, perhaps to discourage this bad behaviour, Uber can review the percentage splits between it and driver-partners, upgrade the app like Taxify, encourage the riders to take note always of the estimated fare before a trip, and of course refund the riders where applicable with an unreserved apology.

This app calculates a wrong amount that favors the driver by bumping up the ride fares.

Celebrated make-up artist Pat McGrath, known for her beauty brand Pat McGrath Labs, is partnering with 'Pretty Girl' singer Maggie Lindemann to release a makeup collection that’ll be sold on Lindemann’s artist page.

Up until now, it had been selling allowing artists sell merchandise like band t-shirts and posters.

Though McGrath’s makeup collections sell out within minutes of release, the partnership with Spotify opens up a new avenue for her products, the young fans of Lindemann’s music.

McGrath said in a statement. “In this digitally-empowered, digital era of make-up, where fans crave instant glamour gratification I always want to reach fans where they’re most engaged."

The Apple III was the first Apple product not designed by Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of the iconic brand.

Issues:  A buggy machine, with chips loosening from the socket, a motherboard that was heating up too fast and crashing often.

The Lisa PC was designed by Apple in the 80s.

Issues: For a device that cost $9,995 at launch, the Lisa was said to be slow and hard to use.

In 1986, Apple gave up on the computer and offered to let Lisa owners trade them in and purchase a Mac Plus originally priced at $4,100 for $1,500.

The Apple Macintosh Portable (1989-1991)

Issues: Due to its battery design, the Macintosh Portable failed to power on sometimes. Plus its portability could be debated given its 16 lbs. weight measurement.

Issues : This tablet device failed due to its poorly made battery and hard- to-read screen.

It also failed with its handwriting recognition it tried to sell to users.

But in the end, the Newton was attributed to inspiring future OS designs that birthed the tablets we enjoy today.

Issues: This game console by Apple’s flop wasn’t much of a hardware or software problem but one of popularity and lateness to market.

Sega, Nintendo and PlayStation had already taken over market share, so when Apple’s Pippin came out, developers and consumers were too busy enjoying their Nintendos and likes.

Priced at $600, Pippin’s projected sales for the first year was to sell 300,000 units but estimates put actual sales at somewhere between 12,000 and 42,000.

Issues: It wasn't so much of a happy anniversary for Apple as sales of the limited edition personal computer Mac turned out poor.

Nevertheless, the $8,000 priced Mac faithfuls remained a popular item among dedicated Macintosh collectors. As of 2010, complete working machines with boxes were selling for $1,000.

This was an educational purpose PC.

Issue was Apple never made the Emate available for anyone outside educational purposes, which limited the machine from spreading across the entire spread of Apple users.

Interesting fact: To this day, Apple has never released the sales figures from the Emate.

The "Hockey Puck" Mouse ( 1998 -2000)

Issues: Terrible Terrible design. The small size made it awkward to grasp and its round shape made it tricky to orient.  The "Hockey Puck" Mouse only lasted for two years and got discontinued in the year 2000.

Issues: Industry experts labelled it as too expensive, Plus early models suffered manufacturing process that led to cracks in the clear plastic case.

This was a product of a special partnership  between Apple and rock band U2.

A branded  version of the iPod  offered U2's single "Vertigo" exclusively through the iTunes store, produced an iPod commercial featuring U2, and created the first-ever digital box set featuring all of U2's albums.

Issue: The U2 iPod which was selling for $50 higher than the regular iPod did not appeal to the mass audience despite the U2 factor.

These flops only go to show that failure is only a learning curve that should translate to success eventually.

Last year 2016, Facebook launched Events, a standalone app that was meant to help users find places to go.

But it failed to fly and impress its target audience. The social network giants are now borrowing a leaf from Yelp as they relaunch the app to the name ‘Facebook Local’.

Yelp does not have a market for Nigeria. Sites like Vconnect.com, Reportam.com.ng, <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/news/tech/uber-tech-firm-partners-with-foursquare-to-help-its-drivers-find-locations-easily-id5354421.html" id="ec10203e-2202-518f-b364-6c2e73cfd3e2">Foursquare</a>, reviewnaija.com, and TripAdvisor all offer varying forms of user-generated review cutting across different business sectors.

So it would be interesting to see how Facebook Local plays into the Nigerian market, and if were to take a guess, we would say the network giants must be depending on their wide and extensive user base to attract users, and draw in users of Yelp, their major competitor.
