The Premier League is moving away from the logo which fans have known since 2007 and new one has been unveiled.

The crowned lion has been a prominent feature in Premier League logos since its inception in 1992 which represents the relationship between the league and the English Football Association - whose logo features three lions.

The Premier League last changed its visual identity/logo in 2007.

The new change comes as a result of league organisers’ sponsorship deal with a host of secondary rights partners.

The Premier League are dropping long time sponsors, Barclays as a result of the new deal and will no longer use the title sponsorship model.

Seven main sponsors will now back the Premier League instead of one from the previous model.

Nike and EA Sports have already been announced as some of the seven main sponsors with the other five to be announced later.

Barclays’s deal with the Premier League will end after the current season.
