The event kicked off in a section of the art gallery surrounded by paintings and Wana's album art hanging on the walls. To set the mood, the lights were dimmed and the album was played.

After the listening session, a question and answer session was moderated by acclaimed spoken word artist Efe Paul Azino. The artiste whose real name is Wana Udobang spoke about being vulnerable and sharing her personal experiences on her album.

Something about art is freedom . . . Art saved my life, poetry saved my life, I found my own freedom in being an artiste”, WanaWana said.

The idea of totally submitting yourself to vulnerability is a decision that you have to make whatever the consequences are because what are you demanding of your audience?

I want connection . . . I don’t want just teach or preach, I want people to connect with the work in a very personal way for themselves".
