The Celtics went into Game 3 with starting center Robert Williams ruled out due to swelling on his knee.
The Miami Heat welcomed back point guard Kyle Lowry who missed the first two games of the series.
Adebayo shines for Miami Heat
Since the start of the series, Heat center Bam Adebayo has struggled to impose his will on Udoka's Celtics.
In Game 3, Adebayo took full advantage due to the absence of Celtics center Robert Williams.
Adebayo poured in a double-double of 31 points, 10 rebounds and contributed six assists.
Adebayo had help from another player of Nigerian descent Victor Oladipo who replaced he injured Jimmy Butler to start the third quarter.
Udoka's Celtics will hope for a repeat performance from Game 2 as they aim to even the series on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
