Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Buhari gifts N2.3M each to Nigerian gold winners

Nigerian athletes who won gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games have been given the sum of N2.3m each by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigeria won eight gold medals at the recently concluded Paralympic Games in Rio.

The athletes who won gold for Nigeria, Ezuruike Roland, Kehinde Paul, Ejike Lucy, Onye Laurita, Nwosu Ndidi, Omolayo Bose, Ugwunwa Flora and Orji Josephine have all been given the sum of N2.3m ($5000) each by Buhari.

According to the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, silver winners were each given the sum of N1.8m ($4000) while bronze winners got N1.3m ($3000).

Nigeria also got two silver and bronze medals each at the Games.
