Stanley Cup champions the Los Angeles Kings beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 in NHL pre-season on Sunday.
Jeff Carter scored a hat-trick as the Kings emerged triumphant in a repeat of last season's Western Conference semi-finals.
The Kings stormed out to a two-goal lead courtesy of Robyn Regehr and Carter 11 minutes 25 seconds in the opening period but the Ducks hit back through Sami Vatanen.
Emerson Etem put Anaheim back on level terms in the second period, however, Carter led the way as the Los Angeles franchise powered to victory.
The Chicago Blackhawks - losers to the Kings in the Conference finals - were big winners over the Edmonton Oilers.
Bryan Bickell, Garret Ross, Teuvo Teravainen, Andrew Shaw and Kris Versteeg all scored for the Blackhawks in their 5-0 shutout of the Oilers.
Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling made 22 saves.
In other results, the Washington Capitals beat the Montreal Canadiens 2-0.
The Capitals were led by Joel Ward and Brooks Laich, while Carey Price saved 29 shots for the Canadiens.
Michael Ferland scored twice as the Calgary Flames were 2-1 winners over the Colorado Avalanche.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had a 3-2 shoot-out win over the Buffalo Sabres, while the New Jersey Devils accounted for the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1.
