Emerson Etem put Anaheim back on level terms in the second period, however, Carter led the way as the Los Angeles franchise powered to victory.

The Chicago Blackhawks - losers to the Kings in the Conference finals - were big winners over the Edmonton Oilers.

Bryan Bickell, Garret Ross, Teuvo Teravainen, Andrew Shaw and Kris Versteeg all scored for the Blackhawks in their 5-0 shutout of the Oilers.

Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling made 22 saves.

In other results, the Washington Capitals beat the Montreal Canadiens 2-0.

The Capitals were led by Joel Ward and Brooks Laich, while Carey Price saved 29 shots for the Canadiens.

Michael Ferland scored twice as the Calgary Flames were 2-1 winners over the Colorado Avalanche.

The Toronto Maple Leafs had a 3-2 shoot-out win over the Buffalo Sabres, while the New Jersey Devils accounted for the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1.
