Sri Lanka have dropped Kusal Perera from their one-day international squad for the upcoming series in New Zealand.
Perera has featured in 41 ODIs for Sri Lanka, but struggled for form in recent series against India and England.
The 24-year-old made just 99 runs from five innings against England last month, scoring two ducks.
He was dropped for the final two contests of the seven-match series, with the vastly experienced Mahela Jayawardene promoted to open.
Dimuth Karunaratne - who earlier this week scored his maiden Test century against New Zealand - gets the nod in a 16-man squad, as Sri Lanka seek a viable partner for Tillakaratne Dilshan at the top of the order ahead of the Cricket World Cup.
Also included in the squad is seamer Nuwan Kulasekara, who did not feature in the series against England.
Paceman Lasith Malinga is nearing a comeback following ankle surgery and is set to return for the latter stages of the series.
