Manchester City star, Yaya Toure leads a slew of players in the nomination list for the English Premier League African Player of the Month awards.

The award is for Africans plying their trade in the English Premier League and is organized by New African Soccer.

In a statement released by the awards director, Tunde Adelakun, the Ivory coast midfielder, Southampton and Senegal international forward  Sadio Mane and Nigeria’s Watford striker Odion Ighalo of Nigeria are the nominees for the October Player of the Month.

So far this season, Ghana's and Algeria's Leicester Cityhave won the last two editions.
