Jose Peseiro has congratulated the latest regional champions in town the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria after their exploits in the WAFU B u-17 championship.

Nigeria's national under-17 team, Golden Eaglets, proved to be no match for their regional rivals at the just concluded WAFU B u-17 competition in Ghana.

The Eaglets defeated all comers, winning all their matches en route to winning the title and picking a ticket to the big one, the u-17 Africa Cup of Nations later this year.

Nigeria on Friday sealed the deal with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over a stubborn Burkina Faso team to be crowned champions. Abubakar Abdullahi was the hero of the day after scoring both goals to help the Eaglets to victory.

Super Eagles coach, Peseiro, was obviously keeping close tabs on the boys and has been left impressed with them after the win.

The Portuguese took to his official social media account to congratulate the Eaglets for a "brilliant" performance in Ghana.

"Congratulations to the Golden Eaglets for their brilliant win against Burkina Faso and becoming WAFU B champions! 👏👏👏," the Super Eagles posted on his Twitter account.

Are we going to be seeing any of the Golden Eaglets stars in the Super Eagles anytime soon?
