Super Eagles goalkeeper not taking pay cut to join EPL club
Enyeama hints that he would rather retire at Lille if he would sit on the bench at any EPL club
The 32 year-old who lost the BBC African Footballer of the Year Award to Algeria’s Yacine Brahimi in the week was a subject of speculation for a move to the Premiership with several teams reported to be interested in him.
“I still have two more years left on my contract at Lille, but if I must move, it has to be something special, not for nothing.
“I won’t take a pay cut or sit on the bench because I want to play in the EPL because I’m a winner, a competitor,” the Lille number one said.
Enyeama was voted best African player in the French League last season and is nominated for the 2014 CAF African Footballer of the Year.
