Dutch legend Rafael van der Vaart has suggested two strikers that Feyenoord could target to replace on-loan Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers.

Dessers has been very influential for Feyenoord this season, having scored 15 goals and four (4) assists to lead the Eredivisie side to the semifinals of the Europa Conference League.

However, the 25-year-old Nigerian international is set to return to parent club KRC Genk at the end of the season, following the Belgian club's technical director's confirmation that Dessers has been informed of the decision.

Ahead of Dessers imminent departure, former Tottenham striker Rafael van der Vaart has put up the names of Jens Odgaard and Jorgen Strand as replacements for the Nigerian international.

In an interview with Studio Voetbal as reported by feyenoordpings, Van der Vaart noted that both players could be good additions to the Feyenoord team.

Van der Vaart said: "I think that Jens Odgaard is a really good player. If Dessers would leave Feyenoord.

"Jörgen Strand Larsen is a player I can really enjoy. That boy has something, a nice player to watch."

Odgaard is a 23-year-old Danish striker on loan at Dutch Eredivisie side RKC Waalwijk from Italian Serie A side Sassuolo.

Odgaard has scored 11 goals and created six (6) assists for Waalwijk in 33 appearances across all competitions this season.

Odgaard could be picked up on the cheap by Feyenoord as the Danish striker's contract with Sassuolo has just one year left to run with an expiry date set at June 2023.

Meanwhile, Jorgen Strand is a 22-year-old Norwegian striker at Dutch Eredivisie side FC Groningen.

Strand has hit 15 goals for Groningen this season in 32 matches split between the Eredivisie and the KNVB Beker Cup. He also has one (1) assist to his name.

Groningen signed Strand for €1.1m from Sarpsborg 08 in September 2020 and they have a contract till June 2024 with the Norwegian U21 international, with an option to extend for a further year.
