With the appointment, Peseiro replaces interim boss, Augustine Eguavoen, who was in charge of the Super Eagles at the infamous AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
Almost two weeks after the Portuguese manager and the NFF put pen to paper, the 62-year-old has finally reacted to his appointment.
"Pride! It is with great pride and joy that I am the coach of one of the greatest football nations in the world," Peseiro posted on his Twitter account.
"Commanding the Super Eagles starts with knowing how to respect the history, value it and be inspired by its roots. "
"Over 200 million Nigerians, from all states and ethnicities, want the same thing: success. We will work with great ambition, so that in the end we can finally call Nigeria the "four-time African champions."
Peseiro to take charge of Mexico, Ecuador friendlies
Nigeria will take on Mexico and Ecuador in a double-header clash during a tour of the United States with the new manager, Peseiro, to take charge in what will be his first assignment as Nigeria's coach.
The Nigeria football governing body, the NFF, has already released a 30-man squad for the games against Mexico and Ecuador led by captain, Ahmed Musa and eight NPFL stars.
Peseiro and the Super Eagles will face Mexico on May 29th before taking on Ecuador on June 2.
