Hello, welcome to our afternoon coverage of the day 8 of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Belgium take on Morocco in the second game of the day, with the Belgians knowing that a win for them today will seal their spot in the round of 16
The Red Devils started their campaign with a laboured 1-0 win over Canada. A match they were lucky to win. However, if they can manage the same scoreline this afternoon, they will join France in the round of 16.
As for the Atlas Lions, they played a goalless draw with 2018 finalists Croatia, but will need to also at least avoid a defeat to give themselves a chance of qualifying for the knockout round.
Belgium make two changes to the side that beat Canada, with with Amadou Onana replacing Youri Tielemans in midfield and Thorgan Hazard coming in for Yannick Carrasco.
Belgium XI: Courtois, Castagne, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Meunier; Witsel, Onana, T. Hazard, De Bruyne, E. Hazard, Batshuayi.
Meanwhile, Morocco name the same side that drew against Croatia.
Morocco XI: Bounou, Mazraoui, Aguerd, Saiss, Hakimi, Amrabat, Ounahi, Amallah, Ziyech, Boufal, En-Nesyri.
The national anthems are done. Now for the main course.
And away we go,
Morocco have started brightly and are backed by a boisterous crowd anytime they venture forward.
However, they need to watch it at the back as Michy Batsuayi forces a corner kick for Belgium
Almost an own goal from the resulting corner, but it's just another corner, which Morocco cleared.
It is all Belgium now after Morocco's early dominance. This is a better performance from Belgium than the one against Canada.
Yellow card for Onana who will miss Belgium's final game.
A half chance fell into the path of Achraf Hakimi but the PSG man could only blaze over the bar.
Ten minutes before halftime. Are heading for another first half goalless draw?
Morocco have a freekick on the edge of the box as we enter one minute of added time.
Belgium 0-0 Morocco. Ziyech whips in a freekick that Romain Saiss appears to connect with, but the goal has been disallowed following a review.
Belgium 0-0 Morocco. That happened to be the last kick of the match.
We are back for the second half.
First shot on target from Morocco but it is a comfortable save for Thibaut Courtois.
Belgium respond with a shot on target from their own as Hazard forces a corner kick
However, Onana heads wide from the resulting corner.
That was close! Boufal showed great skill but his attempt just went off the near post. That was close
Belgium change. Eden Hazard and Andre Onana comes off for Dries Mertens and Youri Tielemans.
It has been a familiar story in this competition, so we could be heading for another late drama.
Changes for Morocco. Hakimi comes off for Yahya Attiat-Allal while Selim Amallah departs the field of play to be replaced by Abdelhamid Sabiri
A friendly reminder that Belgium are currently ranked 2nd in the world but they are not playing like it.
Morocco changes again. Youssef En Nesyri is replaced by Abderrazak Hamdallah while Boufal comes off for Zakaria Aboukhlal
Belgium 0-1 Morocco. They were denied in the first half, but not this time as Abdelhamid Sabiri beats Courtois at his near post to give the Atlas Lions the lead.
Belgium respond with Charles De Ketelaere and Leandro Trossard coming on for Michy Batsuayi and Thorgan Hazard.
Another Belgium change as Martinez brings on Romelu Lukaku for Thomas Meunier. Can the Inter Milan star salvage a point for Belgium?
Six minutes for Belgium to salvage a point from this game.
Five minutes of added time.
Belgium 0-2 Morocco. Game over! The Red Devils have been stunned as Zakaria Aboukhlal stunning finish seals the three points for Morocco. What a result for the North Africans.
FT Belgium 0-2 Morocco. The Atlas Lions are now in a good position to reach the knockout stage following a stunning win over the Red Devils.
This is only Morocco's third win at the World Cup, but what a time to get it. They are now on top of Group F with four points from two games, although Croatia could join them if they beat Canada in the next match.
That is it from me. Join my colleague for the evening coverage. Thank you.
