Harry Redknapp's wife is currently recovering from injuries she sustained when she was run over with a car by the English coach.

According to the coach, he mistakenly ran his car over Sandra on Wednesday, October 19 at the couple’s £5million mansion in the exclusive Sandbanks area of Poole.

The couple just returned from the shop but Harry did not know that his wife’s foot was on the way as he pulled away.

Sandra was heard screaming in pain under the Range Rover and her blood was found on the road.

The 69-year-old was rushed to the hospital where the ligament damage she suffered was treated.

She is back home now with her family.

"It was just a freak accident. She'd gone behind the car and to cross over the road. And as I went to drive off - I sort of drove over her ankle, basically. I thought she'd crossed," Redknapp said outside his home.

"My wife's fine, she's had an operation on her ankle that went well. It's lucky. If the full weight of the car had run over the ankle - God knows what would have happened to her and her foot."

A source also revealed that the former Tottenham coach is relieved as it could have been worse.

There was a lot of blood on the Tarmac and Harry was beside himself. It was a freak accident,” witnesses said in the report.

A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman also confirmed that they were called in to attend to a ‘female casualty in her 60s’.

Jamie told Daily Mail; "My mum is back home and on the way to a full recovery. The only thing she is upset about is that she might not be fit to go to watch Louise on Strictly this Saturday. She doesn't like to miss it."
