Golden Eaglets of Nigeria cruise into the semi-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 3-0 victory over Brazil

Defending champions Nigeria this evening (Sunday, November 1) thrashed their Brazilian counterparts 3-0 to progress to the semi-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Brazilians started the brighter side but could not convert their chances after dominating play in the opening minutes.

The Golden Eaglets got hold of the game and scored three quick goals to put the game beyond the young Brazilians.

Victor Osimhen,  Kingsley Michael and Udochukwu Anumudu scored the three goals for the Golden Eaglets.

Osimhen headed in John Lazarus crossed from the right to score his eighth goal of the tournament.

Moments later, Nigeria doubled their lead after good work by Osimhen.

The striker hooked a bouncing ball back over his shoulder, with Michael following in. The ball bounced up off the turf and past Juliano, the Brazilian No1.

Anumudu hit a left-footed drive from distance which skipped off the turf, and past the goalkeeper for Nigeria’s third.
