The NFF has now given provisional clearance to all players of erstwhile NPFL side, Giwa FC to join other clubs.
League Management Company (LMC) who are the organisers of the NPFL, on Friday, May 20 announced that Giwa FC has been expelled due to a breach of NPFL Framework & Rules as they failed to honour three cumulative fixtures without acceptable reason.
Giwa FC were unable to honour the NPFL fixtures against Wikki Tourist in Illorin, Akwa United and Enyimba.
The NFF has now given provisional clearance to all players of the erstwhile NPFL side to join other clubs.
In a letter to the Chairman of LMC signed by NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi on Monday, June 20, the football body wrote: “Based on the LMC’s expulsion of the club from the Premier League and the NFF ratification of the same measure and with special reference to article 14 & 23 of the FIFA regulations on the status and transfer of players, all players of Giwa FC as pronounced by the LMC and the NFF Disciplinary Committee are free to provisionally register for any club of their choice till the end of the 2015/2016 football season.
“Note also that, all the players are to return to the management of Giwa FC after the last match of the 2015/2016 League Season.”
