Flamingos Brazil beat Nigeria in FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

The Flamingos of Nigeria were on Saturday, October 1 beaten by Brazil in their first game of the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

No10, Micaelly intelligently chipped the Nigerian goalkeeper to give Brazil the advantage towards the end of the first half.

The Brazilians dominated the game in the early stages of the game but could not make use of their possession.

The Flamingos had some chances against the run of play and could have taken the lead but for the intervention of the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Kemelli tipped wide a Mary-Ann Ezanagu chance and saved Christy Ucheibe’s effort from the resulting corner, midway into the first half.

Brazil continued to dominate the game and got a deserved lead through Micaelly in the first half.

The Brazil No10 pounced on a loosed call after Nigeria’s keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie had come out to clear a ball with Ana Votira racing through.

Micaelly quickly got the ball and chipped the Nigerian goalkeeper for the game’s only goal.

The second half was noneventful as Brazil played out the game for their first three points of the tournament.

Nigeria play England next before their last Group game against Korea DPR on Saturday, October 8.
