The People’s Elephant have not played at their traditional home ground of Aba since November 2015 as the stadium has undergone renovation.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) sent a two-man inspection team to determine if the ground was suitable to host continental games.
After the inspection exercise, the CAF official were impressed with the new look Aba stadium facilities and gave it the thumbs up to hist the encounter.
Farriel Allaputa, Enyimba spokesperson also confirmed the return the club to their home site in a message on his official Twitter account.
He said, “Finally, the hard work pays off. The @EnyimbaFC stadium has gotten approval from CAF to host CARA Brazzaville on Wednesday and the rest of the club's #TotalCAFCC matches. Back home for good now.”
Enyimba will hope that their new stadium brings about a return to their best form as they were previously champions in 2015 before they relocated to the several stadiums across the country.
The game between Enyimba and Congolese outfit CARA Brazzaville will take place at their home ground on Wednesday, August 28 5 PM Nigerian time.
The two time CAF Champions League winners have nine points from five games after an important away win in Mali against and a draw against CARA should be enough to progress to the next round of the competition.
