Profiling the broken records and new ones set during the week in the EPL
The round of 16 games in the EPL had two major records set by two managers controlling play presently in the league
Following Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Hull City on Saturday, Jose Mourinho surpassed a previous record held by former Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson for manager to reach 400 points with the fewest games played.
Mourinho was previously on 398 points before that game and thanks to goals from Eden Hazard at the 7 minute and Diego Costa at the 68 minute, the 52 year-old Portuguese manager climbed to top of six EPL coaches.
Mourinho reached the milestone of 401 points from 174 games, winning 122, 35 draws and 17 losses since he took charge at Chelsea.
Another Manchester United coach also set the record of most straight wins in the season when United completed a sixth consecutive victory with 3-0 win over Liverpool.
United last winless result was the draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Week 8.
