Emmanuel Emenike Nigerian striker completes move to Olympiacos

Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike has put pen to paper on an initial two-year deal with Greek giants Olympiacos.

He arrived in Greece on Tuesday, July 4 but completed the deal after passing his medicals on Thursday. 

"I want to let our fans know that I am here to play and give my best for the club," Emenike told Olympiacos' official club website.

According to several reports, Olympiacos paid €2.5m for the former Nigeria international.

The 30-year-old will be hoping to hit the ground running immediately following his disappointing spell in Turkey with Fenerbahce.

He finally ends his stay in Turkey where he had been embroiled in a couple of controversies. The striker first moved to Turkey where he signed with Karabükspor in 2009.

His impressive form brought him a move to giants Fenerbahce in 2011 but he was offloaded to Spartak Moscow in Russia after he became involved in a match-fixing scandal.

He rejoined Fenerbahce in 2013 but spent time on loan at Al Ain and West Ham, he has struggled to settle at the club.

Emenike is a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner with the Super Eagles of Nigeria. He played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and had 37 caps for Nigeria.

He resigned unexpectedly from international duties in October 2015.
