USA, Sweden, Australia, no threats to Nigeria – Falcons Star
Nigeria has never beaten USA in the senior FIFA Women World Cup whilst Sweden and Australia remian strong oppositions
Nigeria has never beaten the Americans in past encounters between the two teams whilst Sweden and Australia remain big threats.
One player in the Falcons team, Asisat Oshoala does not believe the opponents are big threats to the seven times African Women Championship(AWC) winners.
"I was expecting any [oppostition] because it's called draws - anything can happen. The teams are no threat to us all.
"We have more than enough good players who will make Nigeria progress from the group stage. I believe we have the capacity to advance and nothing to fear.
"I don't think we would have any problem in that group, if we actually go on proper training and quality preparation before the competition.’’
Oshoala who was voted MVP at the Canada U-20 women World Cup and the Namibia 2014 AWC added that she would be ‘’very glad and excited’’ if selected for the tam to the June 6 to July 5 tournament.
"Well, I don't know if I would be there, but I will be very glad and excited if I'm given the opportunity to represent my country in Canada again," Oshoala was quoted in an interview with Goal
President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick promised on Sunday that the team will get ‘’best high performance preparation’’ for the championship.
