An Arsenal fan in Imo State, Dominic Ejimba slumped and died watching last weekend's 1-0 loss to Stoke City.
A Jese’s second half goal for Stoke City was enough to beat Arsenal who had all the chances at the Bet 365 Stadium on Saturday.
Ejimba who was following the game from Anara in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State seemed to have suffered a heart attack when Arsenal conceded in the second half.
According to Punch, the deceased was rushed to the hospital where he died.
“Dom is dead. He slumped immediately Stoke City scored a goal. Before my uncle, Hezekiah Amaku, could rush him to the hospital, he died,” an eyewitness Chuks Amaku told Punch.
“It was unfortunate because all of us were exchanging jokes. Nobody was sensing any danger. We never knew that death was lurking. He had supported Arsenal for a very long time now. He couldn’t have taken that goal very seriously."
His brother Onwuka also confirmed the death to Punch.
Arsenal’s loss to Stoke City was their first defeat of the season.
