Enyeama has withdrawn from the AFCON qualifiers following undisclosed family reasons

Lille Metropole goal stopper Vincent Enyeama has singled himself out of Nigeria’s train to the African Cup Of Nations qualifier against Congo on September 6 in Calabar and against South Africa on September 10th

Enyeama who announced after the Brazil 2014 World Cup that he was considering his international future with regards to discussions with family members, explained that he withdrew from the team based for family reasons

“I spoke to the coach and explained to him why I couldn’t make it

“I have some very pressing family issues to attend to at this time and it’s important for me to be there with my family at this time,'' 32 year-old Enyeama said

He debunked any speculation that could link his withdrawal to retirement from the national team when he said: “I’ve told the coach that I will be available in future. But this time, I need to be there for my family.”

Enyeama disclosed this in a chat with Colinudoh.com
