Nigerian international star moved to Second-tier Chinese Club

In recent time, Asian football leagues have been serving as recovery points for international football players who are losing form playing in the popular European league.

It would be recalled that the English Premier League side, Sunderland FC was one of the three teams that were relegated in the 2016/2017 football season. Also, the former Everton striker made only 18 appearances with three goals for the Black Cats during the season.

The player who is currently on recovering from knee injury who released by the club to allow him seek playing time in other club.

With this move, Anichebe would be joining another fellow Nigerian player, Leke James in the Chinese League One team.

Speaking on the signing of the Nigerian star, the head coach of the club, Gao Hongbo stated that: "We are delighted with the signing of Victor, who played in the Premier League. It’s a positive development for our whole club.”

“Victor hasn’t trained on the pitch since the Premier League season ended, so it may take a while for him to integrate into our team. We have to be patient with him,"Gao said.

Early in the year, Super Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi also signed for a Chinese club after losing the interest of the current Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte.
