With the current state of the coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria, working from home is now the new cool. And considering that people are already calling for a total lockdown in order to contain the virus, working from home may be on for a while more. If you and your partner are working from home or together in isolation, here are some tips that will help you get through this period healthier and stronger in love. Compromise and respect each other’s work routine If you like working with loud music, while your partner would rather move in silence, a compromise must be made. It is important to concede things to each other for comfort and peaceful co-existence. Boundaries Respect their physical workspace if there’s one set up. As much as you can, just pretend they’re at work in their office and you’re at yours. It probably won’t be easy and to be honest, some interference can be cute and heartwarming. But know when to step back again and let each other do the work you’re meant to be doing. Take turns caring for the kids If you’ve got any kids, don’t leave only one person to it. You are both at home, you are both responsible for them. Bond with them, play games, get into some of your kid’s favorite tv shows and games. Put some of the spare time to good use Since you both would be working from home, no one is rushing out early or arriving late due to traffic So do interesting things with the extra time on your hands. Learn new recipes together, try new sex positions, read those books you always wanted to read together and watch movies you never had time to bond over. Join Tiktok, Triller, go crazy, have fun. There’s time for that now more than ever! Find some alone time Chances are that you might get bored with each other at some point. In order to not lose your mind during this time, allow each other to indulge in personal non-work activities without guilt-tripping each other about having fun without you. Let your partner enjoy their personal time doing things that they enjoy. If they’re not denying you time, it’d be selfish to deny them of this personal need.
