Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Tanko Muhammad, says termites from hell devoured and destroyed his primary school certificate. The new Chief Justice made the claim in an affidavit submitted to the senate last week ahead of a confirmation hearing by parliament. Muhammad said the termites invaded his home in Bauchi State in 1998 and devoured all documents beyond recovery. Muhammad: “No part of the certificate was salvaged”. Muhammad was sworn-in as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria on Jan 25, 2019, following the suspension of Nkanu Walter Onnoghen by President Buhari for allegations bordering on corruption. The acting CJN transited to a substantive one after grilling by the senate on July 17. He was sworn in by President Buhari in substantive capacity on July 24. Muhammad, who hails from Doguwa, Giade Local Government of Bauchi State, was born on Dec. 31, 1953. He obtained his primary education at Giade Primary School from 1961 to 1968 and then proceeded to Government Secondary School, Azare from 1969 to 1973. Have animals ever eaten your certificate?
