5 Nigerian celebrities who gave marriage another chance Here are five of Nigeria's biggest celebrities who gave marriage another shot. Some of these celebrities only made this list because they lost their first spouse. 1. Toyin Abraham: For this super talented actress, the third time was the charm. Toyin Abraham was married to a United Kingdom-based businessman, Adeniyi Solanke between 2010 and 2011. Three years later, she got married to movie star, Adeniyi Johnson. They were married from 2014 - 2016 when their marriage eventually hit the rocks after a messy breakup. In 2019 Toyin tied the knot again with her colleague, Kolawole Ajeyemi. They have a daughter together. 2. Funke Akindele: In 2012, the actress got married to popular Lagos businessman, Adeola Kehinde Oloyede. The marriage reportedly lasted only 413 days before it packed up due to infidelity and allegations of abuse. Following her split from her first husband, the actress opened up her heart to love again. In 2016 she said ‘I do' to JJC Skillz. They have a set of twins together now. 3. Stella Damasus: In 2004, Damasus lost her husband, Jaiye Aboderin, whom she married in 1991. In 2007, Damasus remarried, this time, to Emeka Nzeribe. Now this was one of the shortest celebrity marriages ever, as it is said to have lasted only 7 months. The reason for this split remains unknown till date. In 2011, Damusus and movie producer and director, Daniel Ademinokan got together. They however kept their relationship and marriage private until 2014. 4. Richard Mofe-Damijo: Some may not know this but veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, has been married twice. The Nollywood giant was married to the well-known publisher and journalist, May Ellen-Ezekiel popularly known as MEE. Sadly, she passed away in 1996. The two had a son together. A few years later, the movie star got married to media personality, Jumoke Adegbesan. They have four children. 5. Monalisa Chinda: In 2009, Monalisa Chinda announced that she was getting a divorce from then-husband, Dejo Richards. According to the actress, the marriage was full of domestic violence among other allegations. After the drama that surrounded her failed marriage to Richards, Monalisa Chinda got married in 2016 to Victor Tonye Coker. According to the actress and mother of one, Coker is her childhood friend.
