<p>The documentary titled ‘Rihanna Volume 1’ has reportedly taken four years to film and delayed twice due to the songstress’ tight schedule and pregnancy. </p>

<p>While it’s unclear If it will feature Rihanna’s much publicised pregnancy, multiple media outlets have reported that it would follow private, never-seen-before details of her life, career, her philosophies on work, family and love.</p>

<p>Speaking on the documentary, director Peter Berg shared in an interview with Collider,</p>

<p>“<em>The Rihanna doc is something I’ve been working on with her for almost four years now,” </em>he said. “<em>Amazon’s gonna release it summer next year (2021), sometime hopefully around the Fourth of July. It’s been a really epic journey, the past four years with her.”</em></p>

<p>“<em>She’s a remarkable woman, who everyday seems to grow and branch out into new businesses and new endeavors at a rate that it’s almost hard to keep up with,”</em> he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“<em>So, every time we think we’re going to&nbsp;finish the movie&nbsp;and put it out, she does something like start a fashion line like Fenty, or her lingerie line, or her skin care line,” </em>Berg continued.</p>

<p>“<em>She’s firing on all cylinders, she’s making new music now and she’s having so much success in business and she’s such an entrepreneur that we’re letting it grow, but we are gonna try and close it up in the spring and release it in the summer.”</em></p>

<p>Amazon reportedly paid $25 million to acquire the rights to the documentary.</p>

The documentary was originally slated to debut in 2021 but was delayed.

Sometimes, 'emerging' can be relative to describe certain artists, but the status of all artists will forever be determined by what constitutes the mainstream of a particular country. But when 'emerging' can be used to describe any artist, it means he lacks the requisite ego, finance, fan base and clout of a mainstream act.</p>

Thus, despite the buoyant value of live events, it is an art that helps artists grow. </p>

However, the artist must be sure that he has fans who actually listen to his music, come back to listen to his music and demand his music. Even if you are big to people in a particular location, they are unlikely to pay for your show if they are not paying for your music. </p>

<p>That's why an emerging artist must tailor his expectation when he's booking venues and look for 500-capacity venues. This argument avails points of throwing free shows and the terrible Nigerian concert culture that makes show organizers give out more show tickets than they sell. An emerging act shouldn't break his bank to throw a free show - 500-capacity is good. </p>

<p>This is because an emerging artist shouldn't be spending more on a show than he could potentially recoup from his fans in a particular location. Also, if he will sell tickets, it should be very affordable. In the end, nationally syndicated stardom will forever be the definition of stardom in Nigeria. Like it or not, nationally syndicated stardom is determined by Lagos.</p>

<p>An artist should also make sure that fans will want to come out for his show. There is difference between having music that people listen to and music that people will like to see an artist perform. Fans pay to see artists or risk their sleep to see artists because they are in awe of such an artist.</p>

<p>Subconsciously, they come out looking for an experience. One way for an emerging artist to ascertain this is to analyse the rate at which people come back to his music and its penetration in a particular location.</p>
