<h1>Laurie Idahosa, pastor at the Church of God Mission International, has slammed Nollywood veteran, Pete Edochie for saying his mother married at the age of 15.</h1>

<p><a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/pete-edochie-advises-women-on-how-to-handle-cheating-husbands/k6xjgfs">In a recent interview</a>, Edochie revealed that his father who was almost 40, married his mother at the age of 15.</p>

<p>"<em>My mother was not educated. She was not in love with my father. My father was almost 40 when his uncle told him it was time he got married. He told them to get a wife for him,"&nbsp;</em>he said.</p>

<p><em>"My uncle went out to a neighbouring village and told them the teacher wanted to get married. The women came out. He looked around and picked one and that was it."</em></p>

<p>While reacting to Edochie's comment, Idahosa said the actor's mum was a victim of rape and a child bride.</p>

<p><em>"How can he laugh about her being “shy?” Oga, she was not shy. She was a victim of rape and was a child bride. She wasn’t respectful of his age, she was afraid for her life. Know the difference and adjust this story... start telling the truth!"</em> she tweeted.</p>

Idahosa says Edochie's mother was a victim of rape and a child bride.

<p>In his now-famous interview, the veteran actor advised women to creatively adopt ways to discourage their husbands from cheating.</p>

<p><em>"Solomon had 1000 wives and 700 concubines. If a man decides to take many more wives, what are you going to do? Nothing. If you think your husband is going out to have an affair, put a packet of condoms in his bag. When he sees it, he’ll know you have his interest at heart,"</em>&nbsp;he said.</p>

<p>This is not the first time Edochie will be making a controversial statement.</p>

<p>Recall in 2020 when he set social media on fire after he&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/pete-edochie-says-kneeling-to-propose-to-a-woman-is-wrong-in-igbo-culture-video/nb9chdf">slammed men who knee to propose to their wives.</a></p>

<p>According to him, it is very wrong in the Igbo tradition.</p>

<p>The movie star made this known via his Instagram page on Sunday, March 14, 2021, while addressing the issues surrounding infidelity and polygamy in Nigerian marriages.</p>

<p><em>"Solomon had 1000 wives and 700 concubines. If a man decides to take many more wives, what are you going to do? Nothing. If you think your husband is going out to have an affair, put a packet of condoms in his bag. When he sees it, he’ll know you have his interest at heart,"</em> he said.</p>

<p><em>"If it is in his intention to stray, he’ll pull himself together. Not that But women are not even creative. You want to be like white women who keep on divorcing and remarrying. It doesn’t suit us. It doesn’t go down well with us. No!”</em></p>

<p>Edochie also spoke about how his father met his mother at the age of 15.</p>

<p>According to him, when it was time for his then 40-year-old father to settle down, his uncle went to a neighbouring village to search for a wife for him.</p>

<p><em>"My mother was not educated. She was not in love with my father. My father was almost 40 when his uncle told him it was time he got married. He told them to get a wife for him," </em>he said.</p>

<h1>Nigerian movie veteran Pete Edochie has endorsed his son Yul to run for presidency in 2023.</h1>

<p>In a video shared by the younger Edochie via his Instagram and Twitter pages on Thursday, February 11, 2021, the patriarch of the Edochie family&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>"I am not one to involve myself in politics because it does not interest me. But you see not all your children are bound to follow you,"</em> he said.</p>

<p><em>"One of my sons who incidentally is an actor has decided to get involved in politics. People have been bugging my phone asking to endorse my son. They say they like him, he is disciplined, he is sympathetic, he believes a lot in people, we believe he has a chance.''</em></p>

<p><em>''They have bothered me so much that today I am presenting him to you. He has my blessing, he has my endorsement."</em></p>

<p>Yul announced back in January that he'll be running for the highest office in Nigeria.</p>

<p>This is not the first time that the movie star will be announcing&nbsp;<a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/yul-edochie-actor-who-just-got-145-votes-in-governorship-election-wants-to-run-for/6xzq3mf">his plans to run for the office of the president of Nigeria.</a></p>

<p>The actor and one-time governorship aspirant in Anambra state first announced his plans to run for the presidency in 2018.</p>

<p>Edochie's post is coming on the heels of a video that has gone viral on social media where a father scolded his son over his poor results despite the huge amount of money invested in his education.</p>

<p>Since the video dropped on social media, various people shared their opinions and personal experiences with their parents while growing up.&nbsp;</p>

According to him, the discipline he got from his father made him stay in school and become a responsible person.

<p>An 'Ogbanje' is a reincarnating spirit in the Igbo tradition that causes grief or pain. They're most often children that die stillborn or children that die before they're married.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video which has now gone viral, Edochie revealed that homosexuality starts when a child reincarnates as the opposite sex and starts finding the same sex sexually attractive.</p>

<p><em>"If a child is born and that child is very sickly and the child dies and the father says this child looks like an Ogbanje and that there is a possibility that the child will come back he gives the child a mark and then buries the child,"</em> he said.</p>

<p><em>"Maybe a few years after another child is born, and the child comes out without the mark, how will you explain it? See it as reincarnation.</em></p>

<p><em>"A lady can get so fond of her friend and then dies, she would want to be part of that family so she can get very close to her. Instead of being born as a woman, she gets born as a man.&nbsp;</em></p>

<p><em>"But remember that the spirit that got into that pregnancy is that of a woman and now manifest as a man. When he sees a man, he is attracted to her, you know why? Because the spirit in him is a woman's spirit. Very few people can tell you this,"</em> he concluded.</p>
