The Big Brother Naija show has continued this year with the Shine Ya Eye edition.

Stars are expected to break out as usual from this edition, with the winner set to walk away with N90m.

There are still many weeks to go in this edition of Big Brother Naija, but as we continued to watch how things go, we want to recap the past winners of this great show.

In this piece, we throw back to all the past winners and where they are now.

<h2>Katung Aduwak (First BB Naija, 2006)</h2>

The first edition of the reality TV show was won by Katung Aduwak and had Gideon Okeke and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as housemates.

After winning the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria, Aduwak decided to acquire more training in filmmaking and production.

He returned to Nigeria to start working on music videos and TV series.

A few years ago, he had an accident that almost claimed his life but he survived and after treatment, he returned to work.

He’s one of the most prolific directors in Nigeria with his hands on some of the series and TV shows on Africa Magic.

<h2>Efe Ejaba (Season 2, See Gobbe, 2017 )</h2>

The show held in South Africa this time with the the theme, ‘See Gobbe’. The franchise had housemates like Bisola, Kemen, TBoss, and Efe, who went on to win the edition.

Efe endeared himself to Nigerians for identifying with the famous city of Warri despite living in Jos and tales of his humble beginnings.

He won the season to take home the cash prize of N25m.

After the show, Efe decided to pursue a career in entertainment with music as his forte. He has since worked with top music acts that include Olamide, Iceprince and BOJ.

Efe is still a budding music act and yet to break even.

Miracle won the BBNaija Double Wahala edition in 2018.

After a successful second edition, the third edition also held in South Africa with the theme, Double Wahala.

The edition had Cee C, Tobi, Alex, and Miracle, who won the edition. He took home N45m.

After winning the edition - which has gone in history as one of the most dramatic seasons - Miracle stayed back in Nigeria to fulfill all he signed up for with owners of the BB Naija franchise in Nigeria before leaving the country.

Miracle had told fans and viewers that he aims to win the prize money in other to get training to become a professional and commercial pilot.

The BBNaija season 3 winner went back to school for 12 months to study to become a professional and commercial pilot.

<h2>Mercy Eke (Pepper Dem season, 2019)</h2>

Mercy won the fourth edition of the BB Naija show but her stay in the house is well remembered for her infamous dispute with fellow housemate Tacha.

As the winner, she went home with the N30m cash prize.

Since then, the Imo State born entrepreneur has expanded her business potfolio with a hand in fashion and entertainment.

'I Am Laycon' is currently streaming on Showmax [Every Every]

Laycon was artist working towards his breakout before he entered the Big Brother house in 2020.

Getting in to the TV show changed his career trajectory as he became one of the most popular housemates.

He won that edition in convincing fashion and went home with N80m worth of prize.

He has since continued to thrive as a musician and a celebrity.

Big Brother Naija is the biggest entertainment show in Nigeria with millions of fans and viewers everyday.

Reality TV stars Laycon and Erica Nlewedim have reconciled after their famous fallout in the Lockdown edition of Big Brother Naija.&nbsp;

Laycon and Erica were friends and later got involved in a love triangle with another housemate Kiddwaya.&nbsp;

The two housemates later fell out, which led to a huge scuffle that caused the elimination of Erica.&nbsp;

Since then, the two reality TV stars have not been cordial, and the tension even continued in the recently concluded reunion show.&nbsp;

However, it seems the stars are cordial again after they shared a video that shows both of them together.&nbsp;

Their reconciliation came after a recent faceoff in an episode of the <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/movies/bbnaijareunion-highlights/vqh2dc4">BB Naija reunion show</a>.&nbsp;

While subtly berating Laycon, Erica recounted how hurt she was when she stumbled on videos of Laycon's interviews and said she felt stupid for ever trusting him.&nbsp;

Laycon had very little to say in his defense asides, stating that he never watched any video of Erica apologising, plus he would rather be in conversations that promote his music.

Laycon won the Lockdown edition of Big Brother Naija and has since shifted focus to his music career.&nbsp;

While she didn't win, Erica came out of the BB Naija house to a huge fanbase and has founded successes with several endorsements and her acting career.&nbsp;

Along with Laycon, Erica is the strongest personality out of the 2020 edition of Big Brother Naija show. Her stay at the house ended in controversy as she was disqualified, but many people had seen enough of her to love her.&nbsp;

The love has been intense; fans raised millions of Naira for her after the show, and she continues to ride on that massive support system from fans and well-wishers.&nbsp;

From an unknown actor to this massive reality TV star, Erica, real name Erica Ngozi Nlewedim is one of Nigeria's most influential celebrities this year.&nbsp;

Falz continues to make an impact with both music and activism  (Bhad Guys)

For years, Falz has distinguished himself as one of Nigeria's best rappers and musicians, but in 2020 he further cemented his legacy with his works outside of music.&nbsp;

The trained lawyer was one of the first few celebrities that attended the first #EndSARS protest in Lagos, and from then on, he became one of the most important voices of the movement.&nbsp;

From Instagram videos to interviews on <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/falz-speaks-to-cnns-christiane-amanpour-on-endsars-protest-in-nigeria-says-he-is-not/5etdwhm">CNN </a>and the likes and protest grounds, Falz led the movement with incredible eloquence and charisma.&nbsp;

Wizkid has been influential since he dropped his first single eased "Holla at Your Boy" in January 2010. For just more than a decade, he has been the leader of the Afrobeats movement and continues to do so.&nbsp;

Having stayed away from politics Wizkid in 2020 was very vocal about social issues, especially the #EndSARS movement. He spoke out against Nigeria's leaders, especially the President Mohammadu Buhari and <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/celebrities/music-superstar-wizkid-joins-endsars-protest-in-london/tfkmweh">attended a protest in London</a>.&nbsp;

Wizkid in 2020 also released a new album 'Made in Lagos'.&nbsp;

Davido was also active in the early stages of the #EndSARS protest [Instagram/DavidoOfficial]

Like Wizkid, Davido has also run the music game for a decade as an elite artiste. In 2020, he continued in that stride by releasing another album' A better time'. His first single off that album organically became one of the anthems of the #EndSARS protest.&nbsp;

As the Afrobeats to the world movement continues to gain grounds, Burna Boy has become the poster boy with now two back-to-back, critically acclaimed albums.&nbsp;

He seems closer to a Grammy Award with his fifth album 'Twice as Tall'.&nbsp;

After an initial silence, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/burna-boy-speaks-on-endsars/z9h1nee">Burna Boy was also vocal about the #EndSARS protest</a> and funded adverts across billboards in Nigeria to support the movement.&nbsp;

Having passed the torch of running his successful record label Mavin records to his brothers, Don Jazzy has fully transitioned from a record label owner and producer to Nigeria's biggest influencer.&nbsp;

He did that by shredding his strick image into his affable personality, notably on social media. People love Don Jazzy, and that has made him a go-to ambassador for brands.

However, his role in the #EndSARS protests in <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/mr-macaroni-endsars-protesters-spend-night-at-lagos-house-of-assembly/q8x50wc">Lagos, especially in Ikeja</a>, made him one of the most influential celebrities of the year.&nbsp;

Macaroni was also vocal about the protest, speaking out against police brutality on protest grounds and interviews.&nbsp;

He went further to drive the message with a host of skits.&nbsp;

Josh2Funny in 2020 started a challenge that gain worldwide virality

In 2020, Nigerian comedian Josh 2 Funny inspired the #DontLeaveMe challenge that went viral worldwide.&nbsp;

With people keeping themselves busy and entertained with several social media challenges in the pandemic-ridden 2020, Josh2funny with one of his characters attained <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/josh2funny-tells-pulse-about-dont-leave-me-challenge-all-my-guys-are-ballers/45f19lh">widespread prominence with the #DontLeaveMe</a>. A witty display of puns that features a hype-man yelling "don't leave me" at the end of every wordplay. First posted in March, the challenge went viral in June and has so far amassed over 300 million views on Tiktok.&nbsp;

Since her emergence in the 2019 edition of Big Brother Naija, Tacha has remained a strong personality with an influence on many people.&nbsp;

She drove her brand even further with her involvement in the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria. The 24-year-old displayed expressiveness while joining millions of Nigerians to call for an end to ploce brutality.&nbsp;

Global smartphone giant, OPPO Mobile has unveiled Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbeleshe, as its brand partner. The announcement was made official on the 1st of November, 2020.

<h1>On Wednesday, 7th October 2020, the winning 5, Laycon, Dorathy, Nengi, Vee, Neo, star stylist Prince and Tricky Tee paid a courtesy visit to Darling Nigeria.&nbsp;</h1>

The former housemates were welcomed warmly by Chitwan Singh (MD, Darling West Africa), and a select few members of the team. Ayodele Otujirin (Head of Marketing, West Africa) spoke about the company’s mission to help the African woman find her beautiful by providing her stylish and affordable hair extension options.

The visit also provided an avenue to present winners of the “Darling Black is Beautiful” task, and the Darling Hairstyling prize, their cheques for the prize money.

The winners of the Darling “Black is beautiful” task were; Nengi, TrikyTee and Prince. They each went home with one million naira, save for Prince who also bagged the Darling hairstyling reward, which one him an additional one million Naira alongside Vee, who was awarded two million Naira for being the most consistent housemate that used Darling products all through the show.

The housemates were gifted also with boxes of their favourite Darling products.

<h1>Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, has appointed winner of the reality TV show 'Big Brother Naija', Olamilekan Laycon Agbeleshe, as youth ambassador.</h1>

The governor has also gifted Laycon with a three-bedroom bungalow and N5 million.

“Once again, I congratulate you and on this note, I hereby appoint you as Youth Ambassador of Ogun State.

"I look forward to working with you to be a&nbsp;model of good character, excellence, good virtues, calmness, integrity that are general attributes of Ogun State, and in fact, your homestead, Odeda," Abiodun said while hosting Laycon at the executive chamber of the governor's office in the capital city of Abeokuta.

“We believe that you will help inspire our teeming youths to channel their energies towards positive engagements and shun vices such as robbery, drug abuse, cultism, advanced fee fraud, cybercrimes and kidnapping, amongst other negative tendencies,” the governor announced.

The governor also promised that an entertainment village is being contemplated to nurture creative talents in Ogun.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Ogun State, I join your fans across the world to welcome you to your home state.
