<h1>On September 24, 2020, German giants and reigning European champions, Bayern Munich won the UEFA Super Cup in amazing style, with the winning goal scored by outgoing Javi Martinez as they defeated serial Europa League winners, Sevilla.</h1>

The same day, the club created a video to celebrate its serial winning exploits during the 2019/2020 season. The song they used as soundtrack was the aptly titled, 'Champion' by Nigerian star, Fireboy DML. The song was the opening track off Fireboy's sophomore album, <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/entertainment/music/fireboy-apollo-album-review-olamide-wande-coal-d-smoke-feature/exfcgf3">Apollo. </a>

Bayern Munich who went on to win the Champions League title <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/sports/more/who-said-what-after-bayern-munich-humiliated-barcelona-in-champions-league/vnhr5pb">destroyed Barcelona 8-2 in the quarter-final</a> stage on Friday, August 14, 2020.

According to Google, that game topped searches across Nigeria in August.&nbsp;

Bayern Munich had six different scorers that night at the Estadio a Luz with Thomas Muller(brace), Ivan Perisic, Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski and Philippe Coutinho who also netted a brace.

<h1>Bayern Munich teenager Joshua Zirkzee who is of Nigerian descent is ready to snub the Super Eagles of Nigeria and play for the Netherlands.&nbsp;</h1>

Zirkzee was born to Nigerian parents in the Netherlands which makes him eligible to play for Nigeria.&nbsp;

The 18-year-old has already been in the radar of the <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/sports/football/who-is-joshua-zirkzee-the-bayern-munich-teenager-who-nff-want-to-recruit-for-the/28nsx3n">Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr</a>.&nbsp;

Nigeria would have to however shift their focus to other players as Zirkzee has his eyes only on playing for the country where he was born.&nbsp;

The Bayern Munich star who has featured for the Dutch at the U-17 level says he dreams of playing for the Dutch senior team although the Euro 2020 which has been postponed till next year is still too close.&nbsp;

“No, I’m not really working on that yet. “Oranje is a dream and as a young footballer I think it makes sense to dream about it.”

This is another case of a player of Nigerian descent who has chosen to play for the country where he was born.&nbsp;

Recently, the Chelsea duo of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori snubbed Nigeria to play for England.&nbsp;

After his signing form Eupen, Onyekuru was denied work permit on two occasions which resulted in loan moves to Anderlecht and Galatasaray.

According to a report by Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Hasan Salihamidzic Bayern Munich sporting director has inquired about the services of Onyekuru from Everton.

The report states that Everton sporting director Marcel Brands revealed that it will take up to 40 million euros to price Onyekuru away from Goodison Park.
