The Ravens' 19-13 loss to the Denver Broncos was exacerbated by the loss of Terrell Suggs (Achilles) for the season, the linebacker tearing the tendon in his left ankle in the fourth quarter at Sports Authority Field in Colorado.

The visitors had the chance to win it late, but Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was picked off in the final 30 seconds - Darian Stewart completing the interception in the endzone.

Earlier, line judge Gary Arthur suffered a broken collarbone after a first-quarter collision on a punt return, the 58-year-old able to salute the crowd after the incident.

The Cardinals claimed a 31-19 triumph at home to the New Orleans Saints, but running back Andre Ellington suffered a knee injury.

Chargers offensive lineman DJ Fluker picked up a left ankle injury in San Diego's 33-28 victory over the Detroit Lions, while Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (hand) was another casualty in Oakland's 33-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Seattle Seahawks scored 18 final-quarter points to hit the front against the St Louis Rams, but the latter responded late before claiming a 34-31 overtime triumph.

Rams quarterback Nick Foles was sacked by Cary Williams inside the final five minutes, the defensive back then recovering Foles' fumble to score a touchdown to put the Seahawks in front.

But Foles' 37-yard touchdown pass to Lance Kendricks in the final minute helped St Louis back to parity, before Greg Zuerlein kicked the decisive field goal in the extra period.

Marcus Mariota threw four touchdown passes, leading the Tennessee Titans to a 42-14 thrashing of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel went 13-of-24 for 182 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

The Carolina Panthers scored in every quarter of their 20-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Alex Smith (three touchdowns, 243 yards) had a hot first half to lead the Kansas City Chiefs past the Houston Texans 27-20.

Aaron Rodgers and James Jones combined twice in the Green Bay Packers' 31-23 win over the Chicago Bears, the Buffalo Bills limited Andrew Luck's influence in their 27-14 success over the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys left it late to edge the New York Giants 27-26.
