Football stars hail Leicester City midfielder’s wonder strike against Stoke City

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ndidi opened scoring for Leicester City in their 2-0 home win over Stoke City.

Ndidi gave Leicester the lead in the 25th minute, powering in a brilliant strike from 25 yards which found the top corner.

The goal was Ndidi’s first ever in the Premier League and his second goal in all competitions this season for the Foxes which lifted Leicester to 13th in the league table.

Jamie Vardy made it 2-0 two minutes after half time, finishing off a Danny Simpson’s cross.

Former England striker Gary Lineker, ex-Nigeria international Vincent Enyeama and Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun were among those who took to their twitter pages to hail Ndidi’s wonder goal.

Lineker who played for Leicester, Tottenham and Barcelona wrote:“Yes Ndidi. Unbelievable goal.”

On his part, Enyeama praised Ndidi for starting the month of April with a superb goal.

Enyeama wrote on his twitter handle:”Yes, Ndidi. That’s how to start the month.”

Balogun jokingly queried Ndidi for not scoring such goals for the national team.

“Ndidi bro, how come you never shoot like this for the Super Eagles ?! just playing with you oga (boss). Great goal, one hell of a strike,” Balogun wrote on his handle.

NAN also reports that Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa was an unused substitute for Leicester during the match.
