Super Falcons' Chiamaka Nnadozie voted 7th best goalkeeper in the world

Super Falcons of Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been selected as the seventh-best in the world.

Nnadozie is selected among one of the best in her position by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).

The rankings of the goalkeepers were for an aggregate of 2021 taking into consideration performances for their club and country.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper along with Manchester City's Ellie Roebuck and Chelsea's Ann-Katrin Berger were in a three-way tie for the seventh position. All three players recorded an accumulated five points by the voters.

Lyon's Christiane Endler accumulated 110 points and was crowned the Women's World Best Goalkeeper of 2021.

Sandra Panos of Barcelona was second accumulating 100 points. Stephanie Labbe was third after helping Canada finish third at the women's football event of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

In previous editions of the award, Sari Van Veenendaal was voted the best goalkeeper in 2019. Sarah Bouhaddi has been voted the winner on four occasions back in (2016, 2017, 2018, 2020).

Nnadozie became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at the world cup. She came into the limelight at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

Her performance at the tournament earned her a move in February 2020 from Nigerian Women's Football League side (NWFL) side Rivers Angels to French club Paris FC.

This season in the Feminine Division 1 with Paris FC she has played all available matches keeping five clean sheets in a total of nine appearances.

Nnadozie has represented Nigeria at the FIFA Women's U-17 and U-20 World Cups and was part of the Super Falcons team that emerged victorious at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON).
