Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo tells Rangers teammates how to beat Leipzig
'We have to do the right thing at the right moments.' - Aribo cautions teammates ahead of Leipzig clash.
The Scottish side took down Portuguese giants Braga in the quarterfinals to set up the meeting with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
Speaking ahead of the crucial first leg semi final fixture, Aribo outlined what his Rangers teammates have to do to take down Leipzig.
Aribo on Rangers vs Leipzig
The 25-year-old made his thoughts known in an interview with the official UEFA website.
According to Aribo, Rangers will have to defend in moments and also create chances on attack.
He said, "The boys were buzzing when we played Dortmund because it’s such a big club.
"When we won that, it was like: "OK, we can keep going here; the favourites have been knocked out, so we can keep pushing."
"And that’s what we’ve done. We can win playing against anyone. If we stick to our task then we can get the win. Dortmund and Leipzig being in the same league, it shows that we can do this."
Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst also echoed the sentiments of Aribo.
He added, "We want to attack and create chances, we have to do the right thing at the right moments.
"We will have moments when we need to defend but we will be looking for dangerous chances to score, it’s a semi-final of the Europa League so the standard is high."
Aribo and Rangers will travel to take on Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Thursday, April 28, 2022.
