President Buhari meets Omeruo In Spain

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari is in Spain on visitation.


While in Spain, President Buhari met up with some Nigerian contingents. The President was welcomed in Spain by Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo.

Omeruo a key member of the Super Eagles squad is not among the team that travelled to the United States of America (USA).

While Omeruo missed the friendly game against the El Tri of Mexico and will not be in action in the upcoming fixture against Ecuador.

President Buhari was accompanied by several dignitaries on his visit to Spain. Omeruo who plays for Leganes had the privileged to meet up with the President in Spain.

Some of the important personnel that went with the President are Former Super Eagles striker Daniel Amokachi who is now a Football Ambassador for the country.

Buhari also went with the Minister of Youth & Sports Sunday Dare. The President gave his remarks at the Nigeria–Spain Business Forum, organized by the Spain Chamber of Commerce, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), CEOE International, and the Nigerian Embassy.

Omeruo met up with the President as they posed for pictures. The defender dressed in a blue suit was a smiles as he shook the hand of President Buhari.

Omeruo then presented the President with a signed home and away 2021/22 Leganes jersey as well as a match ball.

During the meeting, President Buhari asked Omeruo, “I hope you’re not taller than me…”
