Usain Bolt has a point to prove as he prepares for competitive return

After four months recovering from injury, Usain Bolt is raring to get back to action and prove that he is still the fastest in the world.

Usain Bolt has a point to prove in 2015 after feeling like a forgotten man during an injury-plagued 2014.

The world record holder over 100 metres and 200m is gearing up for the new season after taking the final four months of 2014 off to recuperate.

A frustrating 12 months started with a foot injury, and latterly hamstring surgery saw him withdraw from competition to ensure he is 100 per cent for the World Championships in Beijing this August.

In his absence Justin Gatlin shone, leaving the Jamaican frustrated at how quickly people appeared to forget he is the fastest man on the planet, but Bolt has warned his American rival that he is back and raring to go.

'I felt like I'd retired, the way people were talking about Justin Gatlin,' Bolt said.

'I found it to be funny. Like, 'wow, I'm one season out and it's like I retired.

'Justin Gatlin did well, he kept the sport exciting. He kept people wanting to see us compete. For me it's okay, and I'm always looking forward to competition.'

Bolt confirmed on Wednesday that he will feature at July's Diamond League meeting in Paris, an event he failed to compete in last year due to his injury problems.
