LeBron in December signed a lifetime deal with sportswear giant, in extension of the $90 million contract he signed as an 18-year-old high school player.
Details of the renewal contract have been not being made public but his childhood friend and current business partner, Maverick Carter has revealed that the deal is worth $1b.
During an interview with s ‘Style Guy’ Mark Anthony Green, Carter refused to reveal the figure of the deal when he was asked.
Green then quoted a line from Kanye West‘s album–“Nike gave LeBron a billi not to run away”–to which Carter points his finger skyward.
“Yea, it’s a fantastic deal,” Carter also said.
“Nike feels great about the deal. That’s the most important thing. As great as I feel, as great as LeBron feels- Nike feels fantastic about it. It’s the largest deal in the history of the company. Their hope is he makes even more. And our hope is that too, obviously," he added.
