On the back of another thrilling weekend among football leagues across the globe, Soccer Video gamers can also look ahead to which players impressed the most at the weekend's fixtures as we present our pick for Team Of The Weekend.

GK - Rodrigo Rey (Gimnasia Fc)

Gimnasia FC were held 0-0 away to Patronato de Parana in matchweek 25 of the Argentine Super League and 30 year old goalkeeper and Man Of The Match, Rodrigo Rey was largely the reason for that result.

The Argentine shot-stopper made an incredible 7 saves in the match and 6 from inside the box as per Sofascore.

He also saved a penalty in the first half to keep the score level at the break up until full time, also helping Gimnasia stay in the top half of the Argentine Super league summit.

His performances this weekend were outstanding thus his appearance in goal for our Team Of The Weekend.

DEF - Aissa Mandi (Villareal Fc)

Villareal won their matchweek 17 La Liga fixture against 6th placed Rayo Vallecano at home 2-0.

Aissa Mandi was able to get on the goalscoring sheet in that victory.

The 30 year old Algerian defender won all of his ground duels and wasn't dribbled past in the entire match, helping the 13th placed side keep a clean sheet.

His performance at the heart of the Villareal defense this weekend makes him a pick for our Team Of The Weekend.

DEF - Alex Moreno (Real Betis)

3rd place Real Betis saw 5th place Real Sociedad in an emphatic 4-0 win at home this weekend.

Alex Moreno was largely involved in the home team's impressive display, scoring 2 goals and creating 1 assist to sum up an incredible Man Of The Match performance.

For a defender, he really turned goalscorer and playmaker at the same time this weekend helping his team maintain their firm grip in Champions league position in La Liga and also keeping a clean sheet as well.

Frankfurt came out as emphatic winners this weekend in the Bundesliga subjecting 3rd place Leverkusen to a 5-2 defeat at their hands.

22 year old defender N'Dicka was solid for the home side in that match also getting a goal for himself as well.

MID - Rafa Silva (SL Benfica)

Benfica came out as winners in their matchweek 14 Portuguese league fixture, crushing 14th placed Famalicao 4-0 away from home.

28 year old midfield masetro, Rafa scored in 1 goal that match and assisted a further 3 goals to round up an emphatic display as the away side ensured they took maximum points home.

The Portuguese also completed 3 out of his 4 attempted dribbles and made 3 key passes in the game.

MID - Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)

Matchweek 16 in the English Premier League saw 9th placed Leicester City hammer relegation threatened Newcastle FC 4-0.

24 year old Belgian midfielder, Tielemans was crucial to that result scoring two goals for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

MID - Jorginho (Chelsea FC)

Champions league holders Chelsea defeated Leeds in this weekend's Premier League fixture at the Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho scored 2 penalties to help the Blues ensure victory at the Bridge in a hard fought 3-2 win on Saturday.

The 29 year old Italian midfielder's goals have all been penalties this season in the league and he extended that run as 3rd placed Chelsea sought to keep up the pace after surrendering first place to Man City last weekend.

The Blues remain 2 points off first placed Manchester City.

Jorginho's 2 penalties might have spared Chelsea's blushes but it's just about enough to make it into this weekend's team.

MID - Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace)

Crystal Palace went up against Everton Fc in matchweek 16 of the Premier League following a loss last weekend to Manchester United.

The Eagles impressive 3-1 display earned them an impressive 3-1 against the struggling Toffees.

21 year old Gallagher on loan from Chelsea, was the star of the show again as he's so often been for Palace this season scoring 2 of the home team's goal.

His second goal was infact worthy of a screamer.

ST - Darwin Nunez (SL Benfica)

In light of Benfica's 4-0 thrashing of Famalicao on Sunday, Darwin Nunez was truly the star of the show.

The 22 year old Uruguayan striker scored a hat-trick for the away side in that victory taking his league tally to 8 goals in 11 appearances.

He also managed to complete 4 of his 7 attempted dribbles. Even though Benfica remain in 3rd place, 4 points off league leaders Porto, his hat-trick earned him the Man Of The Match award and the Portuguese Primera Liga- player of the weekend.

ST - Michy Batshuayi (Besiktas JK)

Turkish Champions, Besiktas JK came into matchweek 16 of their Turkish Super league after a 5-0 midweek humbling by Borussia Dortmund in the Champions league and a reaction was very much needed this weekend in their league fixture as they saw off 14th placed Kayserispor at home.

After falling behind twice in the game, they secured maximum points in an impressive display winning the game 4-2.

Michy Batshuayi was the star of the show, the 28 year old Belgian striker on loan from Chelsea, scored 2 goals and created an assist to help complete the comeback and seal all three points for the home side.

He also won 5 out of his 7 ground duels and completed all 3 of his dribbles attempted in the match.

A resurgent performance to initiate comebacks like this makes Batshuayi a worthy striker in our Team Of The Weekend.

ST - Karim Adeyemi (RB Salzburg)

Salzburg's young and explosive hitman Karim Adeyemi continues to impress for the RB Salzburg.

In matchweek 18 of the Austrian Bundesliga, defending champions Salzburg thrashed 9th placed Tirol 5-0 in an impressive display.

The 19 year old German, Adeyemi was on the pitch for only 45 minutes but stole the show at the weekend scoring a second half hat-trick and creating 1 assist to see off struggling Tirol, taking his goal tally to 14 goals in 17 league appearances for the Austrian Champions.

He is currently the leading goal-scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga.
